Excellent Switch, but Packaging Was Rough

In our retail deployment, we feed IP cameras, Wi-Fi APs, PoE signage, and POS devices all from this one switch. Everything stays online, and throughput is steady.

We installed two ICX8200-48P units in a rack closet with limited airflow. Even under full load, the fans are barely noticeable. Heat is under control.

For what you get—48 PoE ports, managed switching, robust uplinks—that’s a lot of value. The only small gripe is some advanced configuration menus are buried.

The switch itself is as strong as I expected—steady throughput, PoE support, full feature set. But the package sat in transit for nearly a week, which delayed my deployment.
